Keep Your Heart Health Up Through Cross Training

Even if you've got a stress fracture or an injury that means perhaps you can't run for two months, it's really important to keep your heart health up through something like cross training. You might still lose some running fitness for your leg muscles, but your cardiac will be maintained. And one of my colleagues, Andrea Lagoschoff, and says your heart can't tell what shoes you're wearing, but it can feel the effects. I think he's a pretty handy athlete himself having run a sub two and a half hour marathon.
