Embrace the Divine in the Ordinary
The radical reformation often reacted against everything associated with Roman Catholicism by rejecting any element that resembled Catholic practices. This led to a belief that anything appearing supernatural or ‘superpowers’ should be avoided, creating a divide between the divine and the common. Despite accepting miraculous biblical events, such as Jesus turning water to wine, there is a reluctance to acknowledge that God can transform ordinary elements in practices like communion and baptism, which restricts a fuller understanding of grace and unity in everyday faith practices.
