Dominance Verse Prestige Leaders
There are two types of status games - dominance and prestige. Dominance is animalistic and involves physical fights for status. In contrast, prestige is earned through reputation and usefulness to the group, either through virtue (adherence to tribe's codes, generosity, courage) or success (competence, knowledge). The three essential status games are dominance, virtue, and success. Individuals can earn status through dominance like Mother Teresa through virtue and Albert Einstein through success. The status games we play shape the kind of people we are.
