Successes and Failures in Raising Children with a Focus on Faith
One success in raising children with a focus on faith is developing a deep understanding of worldview and encouraging critical thinking about spiritual beliefs. This approach ensures that children contemplate life’s meaning, truth, and the alignment of beliefs with reality. Although there is no guaranteed faith outcome, the emphasis on deep thought is seen as essential. However, a significant failure lies in nurturing servant hearts in children. The family prioritized personal development but overlooked opportunities for meaningful service, leading to inward focus. Recognizing the importance of service in fostering compassion and selflessness, the regretful realization prompts a current struggle to integrate service into family life, especially with the challenge of changing established routines with teenage children.
