Is the dysfunction map transparent?
The process of creating a dysfunction map depends on the level of psychological safety and autonomy in the organization. In some organizations, discussing dysfunctions openly may not be safe, and in such cases, it is suggested to collaborate at each stage and use the map to build hypotheses rather than making the entire process transparent. Conversely, in organizations with high psychological safety, building a dysfunction map can be done as a group activity, even for retrospectives. The key is to avoid working on the map entirely in isolation, as involving others leads to better outcomes.
