The Role of Ego in Different Phases of Life
To create any project or achieve success, one must overcome the ego. In the early phase of life, ego is destructive as it hinders learning and inflates self-importance, causing rushing and other negative traits. As success is achieved, ego manifests in feelings of superiority, power, and complacency. When facing adversity or failure, ego can lead to taking things personally, resentment, denial of responsibility, and refusal to learn. Throughout life, one constantly transitions through these phases, and ego remains the least helpful factor in each phase.
