The Illusion of Prosperity

Politicians in Europe are trying to solve energy shortages caused by war, but the real issue is whether the previous track of economic prosperity was actually benefiting everyone. Despite advancements in technology, the quality of handmade products has diminished and the tangible side of prosperity, such as having food on the table and opportunities for children, is divorced from the concept of prosperity itself. While more people globally may be experiencing prosperity than 50 years ago, the idea of it has been romanticized and needs to be assessed.
