NOTE

Importance of Pre-Analytical Clinical History in Diagnosing Tumors

The pre-analytical clinical history is crucial in diagnosing tumors like hepatosecellular carcinoma (HCC) and renal cell carcinoma, particularly the well-differentiated ones. Having a detailed clinical history, such as a patient with cirrhosis and a long history of HCD, significantly increases the pre-test probability for HCC. Unlike other tumors, HCC does not stain differently from benign cells, making it challenging to differentiate. Thus, pathologists need to rely on thorough clinical information to navigate the diagnostic process effectively.
