Left-wing critiques typically categorize society as plutocrats or paupers, with no room for the middle class. However, in industrial society at the beginning of the 20th century, there existed a sizable group of people who belonged to the second class. This group included clergymen, teachers, shop owners, clerks, chauffeurs, workmen, and servants. The Titanic replicated a vibe that catered to the middle classes, similar to luxury hotels and establishments like Lions Corner Houses.
