The End of Free Trade
Free trade has been a mechanism for global economic growth in the past few decades but is currently under threat from companies seeking government benefits and protection. The push to end free trade is mainly driven by those who stand to benefit from such actions, rather than serving the best interests of their respective countries. Countries in North America, Western Europe, and Japan, which were once proponents of free trade, are now resorting to protectionist measures as they no longer hold the dominant position in the global economy due to competition from countries like China, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
