Interest in Cadets and Flying Outside the Military
About a third of military recruits had an interest in cadets before joining. The speaker has a passion for cadets and still participates in youth flying programs. They logged 1,100 hours through various opportunities and projects. They were involved in an organization that provided flying experiences for underprivileged youth and taught people with disabilities how to fly using specially modified gliders. The gliders were equipped with hand controls for individuals who were paraplegic.
