The illusion of continuity is a phenomenon in which people tend to imagine that they will remain the same in the future, including their perspectives, views, and preferences./nLooking backwards, it is easier to notice the contrast between our past selves and who we are today, leading to the realization that we have become different people./nWhen looking forward, people can imagine themselves aging physically but are less likely to anticipate significant changes in their outlook or perspective./nThe changes that occur in the future may seem more vague and less concrete due to the illusion of continuity.
