Studying Emotions in Animals
Studying fear in animals is more straightforward as it triggers an immediate fight or flight response, making it easier to study compared to sadness and depression which slows down responses and can't be triggered as easily. While fear may show continuity between species, understanding sadness in animals is a complex and challenging task, especially when it comes to species like marmots where emotions are harder to read in the wild.
