Human beings, as social primates, prioritize their reputation and status, as it has historically determined their survival. The significance of reputation is highlighted by the willingness to sacrifice physical well-being for the preservation of reputation, as seen in behaviors during the COVID pandemic. In human interactions, the appeal to logic and rationality is essential in formal settings such as debates, discussions, and academia. However, in disagreements or conflicts, individuals tend to employ 'little R reason,' reasoning to rationalize their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The reasons presented are aimed at being considered plausible justifications by the social groups to which individuals feel the strongest allegiance, as these groups are where their reputations are most at stake.
