Adaptation of Seder through time
The Seder ritual, originating from a spring festival before Judaism, initially required only three components, one being a lamb roasted before dawn, according to the book of Exodus. Josephus mentioned families in Jerusalem roasting a lamb on the hillsides during this time. This ritual, evolving over time, has been adapted by different Jewish communities in the diaspora based on their lived experiences.
