Real vulnerability involves expressing oneself with the knowledge that one might be rejected, without seeking sympathy or approval. It is about exposing who you truly are, even if it means facing rejection. Genuine vulnerability creates meaningful and valuable connections between people as they take emotional risks by sharing their true selves. On the other hand, 'TikTok vulnerability' is about seeking attention, approval, and sympathy, which hinders true connection. The difference lies in the intention behind sharing personal struggles, where real vulnerability aims to share for the sake of honesty, not for validation or acceptance. Embracing real vulnerability brings a sense of freedom as individuals can be authentic without the need to seek validation from others.
