Clotho: A Potential Game Changer for Alzheimer's Risk

Certain genetic variations, like ApoE4, significantly increase the risk of Alzheimer's disease, with a 3-4 genotype showing five to seven times greater likelihood and a 4-4 genotype correlating with an 80% chance of developing the condition. However, the gene clotho can mitigate this risk for overproducers, balancing out dementia susceptibility. Furthermore, research shows promising results where clotho enhances cognitive abilities in animals, leading to substantial improvements in brain function, suggesting its transformative potential as a therapeutic agent against Alzheimer's. Upcoming human trials are set to explore these capabilities further.
