Selling Power to the Lowest Risk Buyer

The concern lies in potentially having to handle increased demand without knowing if the buyer will always be present. Power companies prefer a contract with lower counterparty risk over a higher price. The companies prioritize selling power to the lowest risk buyer, not the highest price buyer.
