Increased Threats at Borders Demand Attention

There has been a dramatic surge in the number of significant interest aliens (SIAs) crossing the border, particularly with ties to terrorism. This increase, going from an average of 10-15 SIA arrests annually in the San Diego sector to over 100 in 2022 and continuing to rise in subsequent years, indicates a serious security challenge. Additionally, more than 375 individuals on the terror watch list have been caught attempting illegal entry during the current administration, with at least 100 being released into the country. These figures highlight not only the apprehended threats but also the unknown number of individuals who may have crossed without detection, emphasizing the urgent need for awareness and action regarding border security and public safety.
