NOTE

The Attractiveness of Average Faces

Average faces, which result from a mathematical averageness of various facial features like nose size, shape, and placement, are often perceived as more attractive. This attractiveness is attributed to the composite effect of superimposing multiple faces onto each other, creating a model-like appearance. Two theories suggest that average faces may be preferred due to their ease of processing and pleasantness and could also stem from evolutionary reasons where average traits are the outcome of historical sexual selection. Non-average features like oversized noses have been historically less preferred, leading to the prevalence of average facial characteristics as attractive.
