The Joshua Generation seeks to train and equip a generation to take back the country for God, based on the theological foundation of Christian Reconstructionism popularized by RJ Rush Dooney. This philosophy advocates for reconstructing society according to God's Old Testament law, emphasizing the need for Christian education. It promotes authority and hierarchy in all aspects of life, influencing the homeschool movement and certain conservative Presbyterian denominations. The ultimate goal is to influence the broader culture and reconstruct America as a Christian nation.
A group of evangelical Christians raised their children to become influential in the White House, on Capitol Hill, and in the Supreme Court. We’re revisiting an episode from earlier this year in which now-adult members of the “Joshua generation” reckon with their upbringing.
This episode was produced by Victoria Chamberlin with help from Siona Peterous, edited by Amina Al-Sadi, fact-checked by Laura Bullard, engineered by Patrick Boyd, and hosted by Noel King.
