Insight from Endometriosis Research Breakthrough
Researchers at the University of Edinburgh discovered that women with endometriosis have higher levels of lactate in their pelvis, similar to cancer cells. It is theorized that the lactate may act as fuel for endometrial cells to invade areas. A drug used to tackle lactate in cancer is being tested to see its effect on patients with endometriosis.
