By focusing on work that has long-term leverage, you can build up a wave of previous effort that works for you. An example of this is an article that led to a journalist from the New York Times linking to it in a piece. This caught the attention of a CBS producer who then invited the speaker to talk about their book on CBS. This moment became an important opportunity for the book launch.
