Global Deforestation Trend and its Distribution

Since the end of the last Ice Age, around a third of the world's forests have been cut down, with half of the deforestation occurring post-1900. There is a trend where rich countries initially cut down forests, reach a low point, and then begin reforestation. This trend has resulted in temperate regions already peaking in deforestation and regrowing forests, while most deforestation now occurs in tropical regions.
