Examples and Imaginary Stories: The Impact on Book Analysis
"Yeah, yeah, well I give one example when you can list 20 there now again I will I will slightly in defense say that that in my memory that the thing which one will get to it Which I think was the one idea is the one place that I think benefits from a bunch of examples but most of the time it totally doesn't and the the the the problem with a whole bunch of the examples is they are all these Just so examples right is like let me tell you a thing and then here's an imaginary story about perfect How how it perfectly solved this situation right and it's like it's not a it's not a real-life example of what to do Like just just do contrast with getting things done which again I will say I don't think is a book which really holds up anymore But one of the things I always find hilarious in that book is David Allen talks about the problems and projects that you have and his problems and projects are always Like hilarious rich person problem. So he talks about like what's the first step to building your next? Orchard right and it's like well, you know you need to you need to do all it like that is literally an example in the book at one point Right, but but what I what I will appreciate about that is okay He may be giving a bunch of examples, but he works through like the specifics of this thing of like here's here's a thing like let's break down the way that you're supposed to think about this whereas this book feels like all like a whole bunch of like parables about an imaginary family that are vaguely related to the ideas that he's pushing in the book and it's like okay"
