Historically, standardized testing like the SAT correlated with IQ and was used as a signal of basic intelligence for university admissions. However, many universities are now voluntarily ending the use of standardized testing for admissions, which means they are surrendering the IQ component of the credential. Additionally, there is a noticeable trend of grade inflation, with almost everyone getting A's in everything, making it easier to graduate. The implication of these changes on the meaning of the university credential for future employment is underestimated.
