Warren Buffett was initially not very charitable because he wanted to grow his wealth as much as possible and then give away the maximum amount at the end. However, he later realized that the problems of humanity were compounding faster than he could compound money, leading to a shift in his perspective towards charitable giving. As a result, Buffett has given away the largest percentage of his fortune during his lifetime than any other person, driven by the understanding of the accelerating issues facing humanity.
