Effort and Differentiation Strategy
Putting in three times more effort than others in your category can make your offering appear premium, even if the category is generally under-designed. To ensure differentiation, aim for a contrarian strategy rather than just being better or different, as being better often means the same as your competitors while being different is just okay. Contrarian moves are more likely to be seen as genius and discourage competitors from imitating.
