Ep. 251: Projects and Next Actions

Getting Things Done

NOTE

Defining a Project and Its Duration

A project, by definition in the context of getting things done, is any multi-step outcome that can be completed within one year, although it could extend a bit beyond or finish earlier. The key criterion to determine if a task should be included in a project list is whether it requires weekly attention, as the project list serves as the foundation for weekly reviews. Therefore, if an outcome necessitates weekly monitoring, regardless of whether it takes 14, 15, or fewer months to complete, it should be classified as a project.
