How Much Water Should You Drink During Exercise?

On average, you need to drink 8 ounces of fluid or 240 milliliters of fluid every hour from the time you wake up until 10 hours later./nIf you are exercising, you need to drink additional fluids to maximize the effects of the exercise and avoid dehydration./nThe Galpin equation, which is a simple formula for how much fluid to ingest on average, is based on your body weight in pounds and can be translated into the metric system as 2 milliliters of water per kilogram of body weight every 15 to 20 minutes.
