The "What is Money?" Show

NOTE

Bread and Circues: Systemized Time Theft

The rampant government overspending and ability to produce money out of thin air results in reckless spending. This is due to an incentive problem - if money can be printed easily, it doesn't cost anything to produce it and acquire things, leading to a disregard for the time, effort, and energy of others. This is viewed as a con, a pyramid scheme, and a form of slavery, where human hours are stolen through money printing. Though it may not be physical slavery, it is still a form of time theft in a shadowy and implicit manner. To distract and pacify people, the system provides them with entertainment and distractions, known as bread and circuses.
