Do We Need to Be Better Critical Thinkers?

Becoming better critical thinkers involves not only changing our own minds, being open to being wrong, and considering hypotheses over conclusions, but also adapting to the evolving context of information in the digital age. Just as we developed sanitation practices at the community and individual levels to combat germs in cities, we need to develop practices to combat misinformation on a generational scale. Enhancing critical thinking skills is essential, as it enables individuals to uncover truths, identify harmful attitudes, and rethink value structures. However, for effective progress, there must be a willingness to engage in open discussions and share newfound insights without facing significant resistance. Adapting to the changing landscape of information is crucial for collectively understanding and evolving our perspectives.
