The advancement of technology like Photoshop and AI has made it challenging to trust the authenticity of images. While Photoshop editing used to have visible flaws allowing scrutiny, AI-generated images are becoming indistinguishable from real ones. The speaker suggests that to differentiate between real and fake images, camera manufacturers could watermark images with encrypted CEC. Without such measures, it may be necessary to assume that all images are potentially fake.
