Do You Care Enough to Learn?
The third pillar of accomplishing a goal is the willingness to expend emotional labor. Education is compliance and coercion, while learning is the journey of serial incompetence towards improvement. The key to learning is caring enough to put in the necessary effort. It involves being willing to invest time and energy in reading books, listening to podcasts, and practicing. Lack of progress in learning is often due to a lack of caring and willingness to exert the required effort.
