If you are a very sedentary it's not incredibly uncommon for an increase in activity or exercise to decrease sensations of hunger. If someone expends calories doing some form of exercise and they view it as kind of like a chore and unpleasant and they don't like to do it, their compensatory eating afterwards tends to be quite high. Verses if it's just like a, i i like going for a jog. It was fun. There doesn't seem to be that much compensatory like excess food and take afterwards. So yes, it's also a matter of how some one interacts with the exercise they're doing and how they perceive it.
