Writing - important but not teached
Individuals with average grades but strong communication skills are often better positioned for success in the workforce compared to those with excellent academic performance but poor writing and communication abilities. The surprising observation is the lack of emphasis on teaching effective writing and communication skills in schools where academic writing is prioritized over practical communication. This discrepancy leads to graduates lacking the ability to effectively present themselves, get to the point, make a case, persuade, or share ideas. As a result, hiring managers value strong writing skills as a crucial factor when considering candidates for employment.
