NOTE

The contrasting visions of the body: sacred festival vs. capitalist factory

The vision of the body as a sacred festival, a reflection of the cosmos, is seen as a threat to centralized religious authority in medieval Catholicism. Failing to contemplate the cosmic body of the self leads to missing out on experiencing the vibrational nature of reality. In this vision, bodies exist to reflect and celebrate the vibratory bliss procession and to be vessels for sense experiences refined and offered back to nature. Conversely, the modern capitalist vision perceives bodies as a factory, repressing festivities as a byproduct of the emergence of capitalism.
