The Balancing Act of Upright Walking and Big Brains in Human Evolution
Humans evolved to walk upright and become intelligent, but these adaptations clash because a narrow pelvis is needed for walking upright and a wider pelvis is needed for bigger brains. Evolution solved this problem by prolonging the human developmental process, leaving us dependent on our parents for many years. In contrast, animals like antelopes can walk shortly after birth.
