The key lesson is the importance of not naively engaging with those who may not share the same values. It is crucial to have fortitude and a sense of mandate to actively engage in fixing issues in society. The concept of 'adulting' is highlighted as taking responsibility unconditionally for oneself, the situation, and others, emphasizing the scarcity of true adults due to the crisis of intergenerational transmission.
