NOTE

Challenges in Quantifying Consciousness

The difficulty lies in proving human consciousness, as quantifying consciousness and sentience is a complex problem known as the 'hard problem'. Despite being able to measure physical aspects like temperature or blood content, quantifying awareness and consciousness in people remains elusive. This challenge extends to creating a general AI, as if understanding consciousness in humans is arduous, the prospect of quantifying it in AI seems even more unattainable. This realization may unsettle people as it suggests that AI might not be created but rather a representation of how humans process information and think through mathematics. The underlying fear arises from the notion that achieving Human General Intelligence (HGI) may not be a question of creating something new but merely uncovering the inherent processes of human cognition.
