Memories Play Tricks
Memories often deceive us, painting a more favorable picture of the past than the reality. While reminiscing about a memorable experience, the mind tends to overlook the challenges and imperfections that occurred during that time. Psychologically, people tend to idealize past events, ignoring the sunburns, hunger, or dehydration that might have occurred. Our brains do not record memories like a video recorder does; they are fallible and prone to distortion, emphasizing the positive aspects and downplaying the negative ones. Therefore, it is essential to recognize that our memories are not always accurate depictions of reality.
