Intelligence and Assessments: Beyond the Surface
Intelligence encompasses the ability to quickly understand and grasp new and complex ideas, often reflected in IQ measurements. While IQ tests have their limitations, they remain a significant tool in assessing intelligence, although they lack mathematical precision. Furthermore, standardized tests like the SAT essentially function as IQ tests due to their high correlation with IQ scores. Consequently, preparing for such assessments is not futile, as studying can enhance performance, similar to traditional IQ tests.
