Levels of control and visibility in data sharing
Data sharing can be approached in two ways: one where the data is extracted and shared with no visibility or control over its usage, and another where the data is shared within a provider's platform, allowing some level of visibility but no control once shared. The shortcomings of the latter approach include potential data extraction and the need for technical capabilities for effective sharing, which can vary based on the context and desired outcomes.

Sharing data is a simple concept, but complicated to implement well. There are numerous business rules and regulatory concerns that need to be applied. There are also numerous technical considerations to be made, particularly if the producer and consumer of the data aren't using the same platforms.
