NOTE

The Problem with Symptom Management and the Importance of Nutrient Deficiencies

We rely too much on medication to address symptoms rather than finding the root cause of illnesses. This approach is driven by the multi-billion dollar industry of symptom management. For example, type two diabetes is a $110 billion annual industry. Instead of addressing the underlying issues, we medicate the thyroid for hypothyroidism, even when it's not the main cause. The other 80% of thyroid hormones come from the gut. Similarly, we should look for nutrient deficiencies as the origin of idiopathic hypertension and test for specific markers in rheumatoid arthritis. Although medications have their place, we need to have more faith in the body's ability to heal itself and address nutrient deficiencies. Genetic tests can provide valuable information for supplementing deficiencies. Monitoring biomarkers like glycemic control, hormone balance, and nutrient levels can lead to significant improvements in overall health.
