Limited Data on Positive Mental Health Effects of Puberty Blockers
Around 30% of people reported positive mood changes and 30% reported negative mood changes in relation to puberty blockers. Data as far back as 2015/2016 showed that for some people there was no improvement and some people appeared to get worse. There isn't strong UK data to support the idea that puberty blockers improve mental health or reduce suicidality. Studies from the US are often flawed and don't support what they claim to show. There are concerns about the reversibility of the intervention and its efficacy in the short and medium term.
