NOTE

Exploring the Bridgestown Rule of Life and the Practice of Prayer

The Bridgestown Rule of Life is a set of nine practices designed to help individuals align their lives with their deepest desires and God's transformation. While the focus is on being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing as Jesus did, it's emphasized that the goal is not for everyone to do all practices, but for the practices to shape individuals. The rule of life functions as a trellis, supporting growth in Jesus, with practices serving as a way to rhythmically connect with God. Each statement in the rule of life starts with the desired formation, identifies the counter formation, and ends with the practice aiming towards the value. An example is the practice of prayer, aiming to counter the culture of distraction and escapism in a city setting by fostering communion with God beyond merely casual or sporadic prayer approaches.
