There's a real logic in measuring people's individual outcomes, because they have control over them. But what it fails to account for is the second and third order effects of them accomplishing their goals without really understanding how that has an effect on the larger organization and on the customers. What we're advocating in this article is to take a broader perspective, not in substitute for individual goals, but in addition to those.
