Private Equity Requirements and Multiples for Going Public in Tech Sectors
Data shows that on average, digital companies require $1.3 billion to go public with an IPO multiple of 11x, software B2B companies require $430 million with a multiple of 13x, and deep tech hardware companies require $480 million with a multiple of 16x. Digital companies are three times more capital intensive with lower multiples compared to software and hardware. Investing in deep tech and ROAS (Return on Advertising Spend) is recommended due to market opportunities and favorable multiples.
