Grip strength is a key indicator of overall health for both athletes and non-athletes. It is easy to test using hand grip dynamometers, with ideal grip strengths for men being over 45 kilograms and for women over 28 kilograms. Testing for symmetry between the left and right sides is crucial, as an asymmetry of more than 10% can increase the risks of sarcopenia and muscle denervation. Understanding and addressing any major strength imbalances between both sides is essential for overall health.
