Importance of Animal Sense Faculties in Navigating and Hunting
Understanding the animal sense faculties was crucial for navigating thick forests and hunting, as it involved synchronization of breathing and cultivation of sensory capacities. Myths of particular animals directly related to specific sense faculties, which were highly valued by our ancestors. Some hunters were able to listen through animal tracks, while certain cultures believed that burying a child's placenta under a tree would enable the child to listen through that tree for their entire lives. The trance state was seen as a way to awaken these forgotten sense faculties of sight, touch, listening, and knowing.
